Code of Conduct
With you, TuShare is building a trusted and friendly sharing community. We are passionate about sustainability, neighbourliness and the joy of giving!
These Community Guidelines are here to help you understand what it means to be a member of TuShare. Don’t forget that your use of TuShare is subject to these Community Guidelines and our Terms of Service.
Things to do
· Play nice, respect each other.
We’re a huge community of many types of people who all have the right to feel comfortable on TuShare. To keep our diverse community vibrant and happy, be polite and respectful in your interactions with other members.
· Give good stuff.
This is a community that expects and respects quality. All items on TuShare have to be of a good, working condition and value. Plus… the best stuff gets the most love! Items that get flagged three times for this reason will be removed.
· Be an awesome Giver.
Givers are the best. You generously re-home stuff rather than tossing it in the bin, and you keep our community busy and our planet happy. Include details on your listing that might be useful for a Receiver to know, and don’t forget a photograph of your item. This will help your items find a new home quickly! Please answer questions and messages promptly and confirm or decline requests within 24 hours.
· Be a helpful Receiver.
Receivers are the best. You’re a savvy shopper, item rehomer and complete the Give-Receive circle of saving resources. If you’ve requested and are picking up an item, it is your responsibility to promptly arrange a time that suits both yourself and the Giver, and to stick to it. You must pick up an item within 7 days. You cannot request that a Giver goes out of his or her way to get the item to you, so be prepared to be flexible.
· Say thank you.
Here’s the best bit: we don’t pay with money, we express gratitude instead. So whether you collect an item in person or receive it via delivery, make sure you say a big thank you! This helps everyone to experience that warm fuzzy feeling sharing creates; and is a pretty fair exchange. When it comes to thank yous, the more personal the better. The odd pot of jam or a handwritten note doesn’t go amiss either!
· Enjoy TuShare!
This is your sharing community. Have fun giving, receiving, finding treasures, making friends and helping our environment. Discover the stories behind items, share your story and contribute towards the kind of world you want to live in!
Things not to do
If we discover that you have, or are doing any of these things, we will take action, which may mean deleting your listing, comment or account without warning.
· Don’t share stuff that’s not allowed.
The following things are not for TuShare: pornography, alcohol, tobacco, drugs (of any kind, including all medicines, vitamins, creams, etc.), firearms or other weapons or any living beings: animal or human. Please re-home your ferrets elsewhere.
· Don’t be a greedy-guts.
Everything is free, but take-take-take does not a sharing community make. So, if you receive lots of things, make sure that you take the time to give when you can, too.
· Don’t request stuff for financial gain.
Do not on-sell items you’ve received. If you can't use it, leave it for someone who would love it - there's almost always someone who will!
· Don’t request stuff on behalf of other people.
Only request items for your, or a dependent's, personal use. If a friend or colleague can use TuShare themselves, you can’t request things for them. Instead, share your referral link, welcome them to the community and get some free delivery credit! If you believe you should be an exception, you need to explain to the Giver why.
· Don’t be grumpy if you miss out on an item.
Be understanding. Sometimes you may miss out on an item because someone requested it quicker than you. Only requesting an item allows you to reserve it – not commenting, thinking you’ve requested it or wishing upon a star for it. Don't be downhearted! Something else will come along soon.
· Don’t be that person.
You know the one… the one who doesn’t show up when they say they will. The one who’s rude, demanding and ungrateful. No one likes them - and no one wants to give them stuff. Instead, treat others the way you’d like your mum to be treated.
